Ministry & Fellowship


This wonderful ministry is called Serving Our Savior, SOS. Our congregation, in cooperation with Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, House of Power, Unity of Citrus County, and House of Peace, runs a food pantry at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

This is spearheaded by our Social Ministry Committee.

Social Ministry Committee supports/provides S.O.S. . Rides for members unable to drive themselves. The supply of home health care equipment.  Supports the Family Resource Center, Citrus County.  Food is packaged on Wednesday mornings and distributed to people in need on Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 11:00.



Bereavement Subcommittee has oversight of funeral meals/refreshments after funerals.


Craft ’n Share meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month, from 10 AM - 2 PM, for good conversation and great craft projects for the benefit of the church (e.g., shut-ins, WELCA events, various Citrus County non-profits, etc.).

NO MEETINGS NOVEMBER or DECEMBER.

Quilters meet the third Wednesday of each month, from 10 AM - 2 PM.

In 2010 alone,they donated 46 full size quilts to Lutheran World Relief; 42 baby quilts to Citrus Co.’s World’s Greatest Baby Shower; 9 baby quilts to the Pregnancy Center; and 22 full size

quilts to Family Resources for Christmas. 


The Fellowship Breakfast Group gathers each Tuesday at 7:30 AM at Mama’s Kuntry Kafe on Route 44 in Inverness, for great food and conversation.


Fellowship meets for lunch once a month for an afternoon of friendship, fellowship, and good food. First Thursday at 12:00 at Angelotti's Pizza, Inverness.
